Hey I’m Pat Perdue and I want to introduce you to my latest podcast.  This one is a co-production between my company, YCASTR, and Seneca College, in Toronto.

Seneca College is a really great school.  I know, because over the past couple of years I’ve been teaching some marketing and customer service courses there.  People come to study at Seneca from all over the world which makes it a hotbed of innovative thinking.  And a big part of that thinking is driven by our amazing faculty, many of whom are, well, like me, professionals who are thriving in their own businesses, and teach at Seneca as a way to share their passion for what they do.  Needless to say I’ve been hugely inspired by the people I’ve met.

And what happens when I get inspired?  Well, apparently I launch a podcast.  So, here we are!  Welcome to #SenecaProud!  Where I get to introduce YOU to some of Seneca College’s amazing faculty.

So subscribe, download, and join me, as we meet some of the super inspiring folks who teach here at Seneca College, in Toronto.

I’m Pat Perdue, and I’m glad you’re here today.

About Today's Show

So, ever wonder what a Dean does?  In this episode, we meet the Dean of FCAD (Faculty of Communication, Art, and Design) at Seneca College, Kurt Muller, and we talk about the very impressive programs that fall under that umbrella (that students have graduated from and gone on to literally win Academy Awards!)

Also in this episode, you will learn:

1.  How Kurt's career history, which includes being a writer and reporter for the CTV Nation News with Lloyd Robertson informs his role as Dean of FCAD.

2.  How the key industry relationships play a vital part in making students of the FCAD program ready for their careers in their chosen field.

3.  We also learn what it takes to be a good Dean.

About Today's Guest, Dean Kurt Muller

Prior to joining Seneca in October,  Kurt was the Dean of the McKeil School of Business, and the School of Media & Entertainment at Mohawk College, where he was instrumental in the launch of Mohawk’s groundbreaking Accessible Media Production Program, and spearheaded an initiative to make Mohawk’s Journalism program more accessible to people with disabilities.   Kurt also led the establishment of an Augmented and Virtual Reality training and education centre at Mohawk, in partnership with EON Reality.

Kurt Muller spent almost 20 years working as a print and television journalist in Manitoba and Ontario. He graduated with an MA in Journalism from the University of Western Ontario and worked as a reporter and writer for CTV National News with Lloyd Robertson.  Kurt was born in Cape Town, South Africa.
